Welcome to deMelis Atelier, the chicest alterations studio around. In 2023 we remodeled our space to be THE alterations destination for today’s nearlyweds. From our spacious fitting room to our curated selection of veils and accessories for sale, our studio will surprise and delight you.
THE DIGS
Our goal is to create a seamless process for you (sewing pun intended). Over time, we have developed systems and practices that allow us to be certain we’re exceeding your expectations in more ways than just sewing. In other words, this is not our first rodeo. From the timing of your fittings to the length of your appointments, everything we do is methodical and comes from years worth of experience in this business. We operate by appointment only, so we’re able to take our time with each client. This allows us to be meticulous when it comes to you, your fittings and your overall experience with us.
It’s the little things that make a big difference, and at deMelis, every detail counts; pressing, steaming, packaging, etc. We leave no thread out of place and we prepare you for what’s to come during the process as well as after you’ve taken your garment home.

Our team has decades worth of experience including formal training in textiles, pattern making and garment construction. But we don’t rest on our laurels. We work hard to stay up-to speed on all the latest sewing techniques, dress styles, fabrications and garment assembly so you’re in good hands.

I would give Melissa 100 stars if I could. My first appointment, I had asked if I could FaceTime my grandmother because she was in hospice… this was the only time my Grandmother would see me in my dress. By the time my second appointment came, my grandmother passed and Melissa was willing to sew my Grandmother's shirt in my dress. When my final fitting came, there wasn't a dry eye in the room. She truly is amazing!"
